Well our family was visiting family friends (you know those friends that basically are family) in Arizona on Aug. 7th--our first waiting anniversary. We enjoyed visiting with several life friends and our kids did great on the 1,500 mile trip to Arizona. We had a great time and yet all five of us were so excited to be home and sleep in our own beds. Now back to adoption news, we have waited one month and have dropped one spot on our waiting list. We are now #49. It has kind of been slow on the referral side of things with our agency. Lots is going on in Ethiopa. First off the courts closed on the 8th due to their rainy season, but referrals can still be made during the court closure. Some orphanages in the south are closed, but our agency still has 4 orphanages they partner with (one of these is fairly new)---so after the major slow down we are praying for lots of referrals to come soon! Would you pray along with us? Also in your prayers remember all of Eastern Africa: Ethiopia, Somalia, Kenya are all experiencing severe drought & famine. It is very much a life & death situation.
Our adoption auction is coming up soon at the end of this month---and perhaps on our 2 Month anniversary I will have a giveway. With vacation, school starting and a birthday boy to plan for---I let this one slip by. :) Love you all and thanks for listening.
